I am planning to take advantage of the great sale fares on QF to DFW. For the outbound leg, I wish to transit through DFW to MCO. This is no issue as I can book this through the QF website.

For the return leg, I wish to return from Vegas, transit through DFW and return to Australia. I cannot seem to book this through the QF site. If I was to book the DFW-Australia leg with QF and seperately book an AA flight LAS-DFW which allowed 3 hours+ connecting time in DFW, can I call QF and ask the itineraries to be linked so that I am protected if the LAS-DFW flight is delayed etc?

Any other ideas for how to get protect myself and be able to fly LAS-DFW-Australia on the same itinerary?

Many thanks.

even if linked they are still separate itineraries and you are not legally protected. with status ymmv

What about an "open jaw."

Aus-dfw-mco, las-lax-aus

Should price approx the same as las-dfw-aus for the return.

I believe the special fares are Oz-DFW return.

However, hove you tried multi-segment booking?
