Okay, it's about time I went back to the Wild West for another visit.

I'm flying over on QF589 (BNE/PER) on Friday, 27 April, however as soon as I arrive, immediately onto a Skywest charter flight to to Busselton. Later that night, fly to Albany (great, a lot of flying but no SC's or miles for the charter flights  :( ).

Friday is spent in Albany then a PM charter flight back to Perth. At the end of this orgy of flying, I'm being wined and dined; so expect me to have a huge hangover on Sat AM. Thought it would be a good idea not to drive anywhere on Saturday, or attempt a 6am wake up for a MR to BME or KGI (unlike my previous trip). The only thing I need to do is change hotels - from the Sheraton to the Holiday Inn on Hay Street.

So, I thought I'd throw together an AFF/FT Doo in Perth for the Saturday lunchtime (1pm), a social event like at a beer garden somewhere (I'll need a hair of the dog  ) ... but just where? Any ideas for a fairly close to CBD meeting place??

As the West Coast Eagles are playing Brisbane Lions at Subiaco, I want to watch the match (starts at 5.40pm local). Anybody going or want to head to it as well??

I do have plans for Sunday (I want to head to Fremantle for the day to relax).

So, oz_mark, v8Statesman and the rest of the Perth-based FF's (or visiting FF'ers like me)....who's up for it??

Lindsay,

Would have been good to put a face to the name and watched the mighty West Coasters thrash Brisbane, but I am flying out on the 24th and will not be back. Maybe next time.

I hope some of the other Perth guys catch up with you though

hey

I am in WA and wouldnt mind sharing a chin wag and a beer, although I plan on starting my round the world journey two days later so I might be doing last minute shopping and packing.

But if I am free just mention the place in the city and I will be there. The Monkey in Northbridge always good place.

Also I am pretty close to Freo so might even be able to catch up with you in freo.

Reggie, I generally come to Perth every 6 months for work, so there should be a next time...enjoy your trip.

cbert, I'll update after this weekend. If my Sunday trip to Freo goes ahead, that may be easier for both concerned that we meet up somewhere in Freo.

And living in Sydney it is like living a nightmare over and over.

Not just because of the football teams either! :D :D :D
 Apart from the traffic, lack of privacy, expensive real estate, riots, gang rapes, drive by shootings it is a great place to live.

Just a tip Lindsay , if you are planning on going to the footy, try and book some tickets in advance. Most eagles games are sold out and there are rarely walk up tickets. Might be able to make your do on the Sat night. Will let you know.

Batesy, thanks for the tip. Passed on my great idea to the generous supplier of my trip...they thought this was a great idea and have gone off to organise tickets I believe. At least there may be 30 supporters of the Lions there!

Got upgrades organised for my PER/ADL and ADL/BNE sectors but showing U0 on the important one BNE/PER. Still, it's a 332, there's plenty of J seata available (wsa showing J9 yesterday)

sorry mate, wont be able to meet up for dink on weekend as last minute packing got to get sorted before I leave on Tuesday.

Anybody out there in Sydeny will to have a drink Wed or Thursday night next week ?

cbert, thanks for the advice. Just surfaced after an intensive two day assult on Busselton, Albany and Perth (courtesy of Skywest and Skippers). My first trip in a Embraer 120 Brasilia - lovely sleek aircraft and a darling FA - some of the boys wanted to invite her out to dinner (but she was a little young for them  ).

Got to go and get a new mobile phone now, mine died on the trip :(
