Does anyone know if the service applies when flying J/F on an award redemption flight using QFF points? I can't find any reference to it on the Qantas website.

Also what about a QF flight booked using AA points?

Cheers

I believe there is no distinction between on an award ticket, can't comment on AA rewards though

Media Release - Qantas announces new chauffeur service

Travellers connecting via a domestic flight from Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Perth, Sydney or Melbourne to an eligible Qantas international flight will have access to Chauffeur Drive. The offer also extends to Qantas customers travelling from Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington to Australia to connect to an eligible Qantas international flight.

Does anyone have any idea if the "connecting flight" needs to be on the same booking? I have a J booking SYD-LHR on QF1 in June, with ADL-SYD connecting flight as a separate booking. Chances of getting the limo in ADL?

And as a addendum to that question, does the connecting ( separately booked) domestic flight need to be in J ? I am flying BNE -SYD in Y then connecting that day with QF1 in F .

Hi GPH, I'm guessing that no one knows the answer to these questions yet, so please let us know if you find out before I do and I shall do likewise. Unless Red Roo or someone in the know can help..?

I suspect I shall have to try and book it, so yes I shall let everyone know.

From what has already been published the domestic connecting flight can be in economy.

Qualifying flights that have already been booked can arrange Chauffer Drive through “Manage Your Booking” from the 18th March.

Along with this information I have been “reliably” advised that the Capital Cities distance (Km) Cap will also be available on the site from this date.

Nice to know. Just need to know if I am. Close enough to airport for collection

Although not a guarantee of what Qantas will do, seeing as it came about from the Emirates tie up you could get a rough idea by seeing the conditions of the service on the Emirates website. I didn't pay attention to other states but know that for Adelaide you must be within 40km of the airport from memory.

If emirates have the service ie when arriving in MAD then if you fly to LHR and connect via BA to MAD - shouldnt QF provide the limo - both from & to the airport?

I'll stop over for two nights in the Emirates in the second week of April- EK offers the service to anywhere in the UAE, anyone has any idea if QF will simply "mirror" that? I'd like to stay in Abu Dhabi and don't want to wait till the 18th for booking the hotel so just wondering if I should budget for a rather costly cab ride or whether QF will cover that. It's about a 90 mins drive from memory...

I still don't get how that will work and maybe QF isn't yet either? On the one hand, there's that 12 hour + rule so if you're on an international flight with QF that is LESS than that, then bad luck. On the other hand, it clearly states on the QF website:

"Travelling on the Qantas-Emirates network?
Subject to regulatory approvals, Qantas codeshare customers travelling on an Emirates service to/from Dubai will also be eligible for the service including when connecting to other Emirates codeshare destinations where Emirates offer Chauffeur Drive.

Further information on how to book will be available soon. If you are booked for travel from 31 March 2013, you will be provided details on how to add the service to your existing booking."

So... Let's say I am traveling LHR-DXB on a QF flight number and on QF metal- bad luck, no chauffeur. However, if I fly on a QF flight number on EK metal, then how hey, the Emirates rules apply and I get it. Surely they can't penalize you for flying on QF metal as a QF customer? What about stopovers in the UAE which are part of a 12 hour + QF flight, do you get it then? You would if the above is true and you are on EK metal...

I believe that the long stopover still counts

Well I think I have found the answer to my (and GPH's) question, and unfortunately it isn't the one we are looking for.

From the Qantas Chauffer Drive Ts and Cs:

5. Chauffeur Drive is also available in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Perth, Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington to passengers travelling on Qantas operated flights that connect to or from an eligible Qantas international flight above (and travelling in First or Business on the eligible international flight). Customers do not need to be travelling in Business on the domestic or trans-Tasman flight. The Domestic or trans-Tasman flight must be in the same booking as the eligible international flight.

Pity about that.

Why don't you ring up and get the bookings linked, so they can see that they are related?

I did this with my booking where I paid for J SYD-LHR-MEL then did a JASA MEL-SYD, as it was a lot cheaper then paying for it directly, the reason for the flights like that is my wife is on a classic awards flight and that was the only routing we could get, fun thing is there is no extra points cost flying SYD-LHR-MEL-SYD then doing it direct. I linked all the bookings and under my international trip I was ale to book the chauffeur service from SYD to home on my booking.

I have it sorted now.
Our separately booked flights have been changed to a linked booking with new booking codes, this linking of the same day travel to a qualifying flight means that the chauffeur drive from my home to BNE ( and the return leg) is now on.

Thanks GPH and MYT105, I didn't know that could be done to the extent of getting a new booking reference number. I'll ring them up.

Isn't this site wonderful for finding out stuff!

Has anyone with flights to the US after July been able to book these yet? I don't want to keep logging in if it won't be available for a while.

We have flights coming up in August and the limo transfer went live on our booking a couple of days ago.
