Just been looking to book an award on AA between JFK and LAX which usually has fairly good availability. I'm looking at March/April next year.

The only options being presented are a random one stop via ORD and obviously no J is available. Anyone have any idea why all of the AA direct JFK-LAX flights seem to be not available for award from about Feb onwards? It's been like this for a few days now.

Is booking the QF JFK-LAX easy enough? It's not online obviously... but I'm assuming it can be booked over the phone as part of a ticket to Australia?

Well looking at aa.com there are 2 milesAAver awards in Y and J everyday in Feb next year except the 1st.Very little F though.
In March there are 2 Y awards only on 8 days early in the month but 2 J milesAAvers every day.No F milesAAver availability.

AA only have reservations up to 330 days. 2 June 2013 + 330 days = 28 April 2014

Thanks. I know AA does release a little later, but I've just checked all the dates and all availability on the direct services (in any cabin) ceases on 31st December 2013. From then on it's only limited Y and F availability on one daily service via ORD. Same applies for JFK-SFO.

Any ideas?

Well AA have good J milesAAvers on the direct LAX-JFK which normally means QF should have access.I have found in the past QF doesn't seem to recognise AA domestic J so you may have to ring.

Thanks. I'll try giving them a call. It's part of a OneWorld Award so I was trying to piece it together online, but I can do it over the phone easily enough.

Strange that it all dies from 1st Jan 2014 onwards.
