Limit on number of waitlisted bookings?

Is there a limit to how many waitlisted bookings you can have with SQ at once?

I'm trying to get my parents from MEL to LHR in September - 2 x J were available on Monday, but had gone to waitlist by the time the points arrived from my CC account on Wednesday :-( So, I've been trying to waitlist them for the originally-desired flights, plus a bunch more around the same date.

I've got four waitlisted bookings setup, but every time I try to setup the fifth (and final) one the SQ website tells me "This selection cannot be processed. Please select a different flight to proceed.". I can't figure out what is wrong... so I'm wondering if I've run into a limit on the number of waitlisted bookings possible.

I had same problem. When I rang them they said there is no availability for that flight etcetc. I asked why it was showing waitlist on website and was told it was a glitch!! Hmmmm.
That said I've never been beyond 4 waitlists to test your theory.

I am not aware of any published limit, however the new website is rather poor.


I distinctly remember having more than 4 concurrent waitlisted [saver] bookings in the past (~2-3 years ago). As it happens, half of them came back so I was spoilt for choice as to which sectors to take.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll try again today... might try waitlist for something completely different just to see if it works as well.

Know it's slightly OT and is covered elsewhere but I have now had two waitlist flights come through and no email or SMS. Not even a flash message when I log in to my account. I had to go in to manage bookings and click on the actual flight to see that it had "converted".

Ditto for the one-and-only waitlisted flight I've had clear. I've gotten into the habit of logging into my account every few days and checking all waitlisted bookings - very annoying!
