Hi All,

I am currently sitting in the admirals club waiting for QF8, I was wondering if anyone knew the chances of us having a scenic stop somewhere along the way?

How much does the stop delay us by usually?

the 1 hour refuel is nothing compared to the 3.5 hour delay because the baggage handlers broke the cargo door  ... so here i sit being fed coffee and biscuits and chatting to the captain waiting to see if my connection on QF 63 will be met to JNB. Interesting flying day indeed.

Anyone that can check the operating aircraft for QF8 and QF63, could you do so and let me know if it is the same one?

Thanks
congee

When are you on QF63? ERs dont do QF63 so its more than likely a change of aircraft!

Well they are either holding it for you or operating an ER, its now departing just after 1.

Didnt this morning's qf8 have the stop-n-go?Maybe we should keep a thread on the qf8/qf7 diversions to see how common it becomes?

There was an annoucement at SYD Int this morning around 9am advising that QF63 to JNB was delayed for about 2 hours due to the late incoming aircraft coming from Brisbane... They were handing out meal vouchers too.

For the record its only the second diversion of the service in two months, no big deal, SQ has their first A380 visit to BNE on the 7th as a diversion.

Well they're diverting to AKL for Sat's flight.

DFW-AKL-BNE-SYD. Arrival in SYD is estimated at 4:40 late.

I think we may have a new contender for the old "1-oh-late" moniker!

Just a thought....why wouldn't they go DFW-AKL-SYD and then sent the pax that need to go to BNE on a dom flight north?

That would make much more sense to me.

Wasn't part of the original marketing non stop DFW to AU?

Yes but if they needed a tech stop in Auckland why bother going up to Brisbane. Normally it goes straight through to Brisbane then Sydney so it is nonstop DFW to Australia.
