My partner recently made lifetime gold.
We weren't expecting anything special, like a set of Tumi luggage that Delta gives out.

But haven't even received a congratulatory email.
Expecting too much?

You will get a letter in due course....

Definitely anti-climactic....but I've survived for a few years with a smug sense that 'they can't take it away from me*' (*but can change the rules!)...and the little warm glow from having the expiry date on my card as Lifetime....

Letter is a serious anti-climax anyway:

"Dear Member, congratulations. .." etc.

... and unsigned, not even the name of who sent it (ie. Head of loyalty) nope, makes you feel just like another number.

I wonder if it's a strategy. Ie: don't bring attention to LTG and pax will keep flying to attain Plat/Plat1...

anti-climatic? I think you mean anti-climactic.

It could take a while for the letter to arrive. QANTAS doesn't tend to hurry these things.

Ever since I dropped down from P1, there has been a continuing error in the system (that QF continues to ignore) where my status is shown as LTG even though I am still WP (the colour is right at least).

So QF like to remind me of my upcoming LTG status everyday....
