Just checked in for our flight to LHR tomorrow. Last row of J, seats 12E + 12K. Full flight.

Has anyone flown in the second J cabin on EY previously? Much noise from the Y cabin?

From looking at the seat map, it *appears* that the first row is the only row with bassinets... which could make for an interesting twenty-something hours in the sky should there be infants in the vicinity...

Worst case scenario is that I just pop a pill and sleep for the whole journey :(

Shame on me for not noticing this on the itinerary

1. The only bad seat in J is the one you had before you were downgraded. I wouldn't worry where you are, except just not in Y (or would you rather be in Y?)

2. If a baby starts screaming, you'd usually hear it even in the front of the second cabin, even with curtains closed. Just hope there isn't a baby in J, let alone in your cabin (now what are you going to do about it?)

In short, I'm calling "big deal" on this one. Just enjoy the flight, but feel free to bring along anything you would consider necessary prophylactic instruments or tools. Anything J or F has got to be better than Y.

Lol yes indeed... fingers crossed that the stars align! (and if there is a troupe of infants, AFF will be the first to hear of it :D)

Have you tried to ring the airline, what you see online may not be reality, and a seat move may be possible.

Could be a lot worse. Rows 31 and 45 don't look so appealing.

After a good nights sleep everything is in perspective and i'm just happy to be going.

Another nervous thought about curfew and delays: a 10pm departure is risky (especially when we have plans in London tomorrow night!).

Sounds like you need to talk to Centurion and get them to lift their game in the future :p

You never know - the person in 12F might be happy to move to your 12K which is a solo seat so serves as both a window and an aisle seat.

A win/win situation as 12F gets a better seat & you both get to sit together in 12EF.

That is the plan B option if plan A fails which is asking at checkin if they have blocked off any seats for airport use.

I'm sure you'll have a great trip anyway!

The flight was good - yes there were kids but I didn't hear a peep in the entire 15 hr / 7 hr flights. I consider myself fortunate :)

More importantly - did you catch the royal nuptials? :)
