LHR T3 to T5 transfers QF to BA in a post-covid world

Just wanted to check any recent experiences on transferring from QF arriving LHR T3, to BA departing T5 (in my case for MAN). The flights are on a single QF booking but with the BA flight carrying a BA # rather then QF code-share.

I assume, but may be wrong owing to customs requirements, that my bags will be checked through to MAN - or do I have to collect at LHR and re-check? I have just shy 2 hrs 40 mins for the transfer. If anyone has done this recently would appreciate a quick note on your experience.

I've never done this so I don't know. But if your bags are though-checked to MAN, then where would a customs check be done?

Not LHR?, not MAN (I assume), as arrival to MAN would be domestic.

But maybe the UK is smarter than I imagine (I'm a UK citizen), and they pull your bags to one side at MAN for customs examination.

Or, they do it at LHR, find something, and prevent you from flying to MAN? Which is it I wonder? Or, something else?

Has anyone actually done this?

Can confirm bags are through checked. I have done this multiple times to GLA. They used to use a separate belt for international transfer bags with a nominal customs office that never has anyone in it. Variable over the last couple of trips as to which belt they come out on.

If you have ever gone through customs at LHR from an international flight you will know that it’s a bit of a damp squib, nobody there, nobody checking anyone.
They wouldn’t be filming an International episode of Border Security there that’s for sure.
