Well much to my relief today I was very pleased at the new (to me) security measures implemented at LGW - a separate xray machine for shoes. After I got through Fastrack (named by someone working for Cityrail I assume given how slow it was) I was asked to take off my shoes and put them through a separate scanner - what a joke!

I know people bitca about LHR but last weekend I was through from check in to the lounge in 8 mins - I was in the queue for Fastrack for about 20 mins alone!!!!

My bag was also sized - but the actually helpful member of staff told me to take out my laptop before sizing :)

That is one thing for LGW the staff were actually helpful and sensible - guy in front of me had a small paper bag (like something from a designer clothes store) that his laptop was in and wasnt told to remove it and my tiny tube of lipbalm was not required to be put in it's own baggie - just painfully slow...

I must admit, I found LGW much slower than LHR. And don't get me started on easyJet slow checkin...
