People with status'd RFID tags on their hand luggage full stop.

Seriously WHY? It's not like others in the lounge would look at you and go "oh you're special, you've got lounge access", and when you're out in the terminal most people don't know what the colours mean anyway, and something tells me that the the person is not about to checkin in an oversized school bag...

/rant :)
I have mine on my hand luggage all the time. In case I decide to put it through the hold. Why should I take them off? Maybe people do things for completely different reasons than what you imagine.

Hard to enforce though as you can’t tell if someone’s a child or not by their date of birth alone. The really childish behaviour tends to come from adults. :-(
3 of the last 5 Intl overnight flights we have been on has had screaming kids or crying babies onboard that has ruined my sleep.
Would happily pay extra for a flight without either children or babies onboard.

I think this is actually a valid complaint! If a passenger has selected a seat they should expect the airline to abide by the conditons of carriage. Not get booted out to accommodate a status holder :(
I read juddles' comment differently, I thought it was about how plebs like me can't choose a good seat because they're blocked-out for Status Folk. I'd be peeved if the system told me I had a decent seat allocated & it was then un-allocated ...

MEL_T, every single post I have made in this thread was "in the spirit" of the thread - outrageous thoughts. Please take it as that.

And this is why, again in the spirit of this thread, I refuse to indulge in any sensible debate on any particular topic - we have the entire rest of the forum to do that in! :)

@MEL_Traveller in its simplest form, I always thought the conditions of carriage cover getting you from point A-B, seat selection is just best efforts and not guaranteed.

Lounges are too busy trying to be modern and trendy that they forget to be comfortable quiet places. Passengers are too obsessed with classifying lounges that look “dated” as horrible that they overlook the fact that a modern lounge with very little carpet and modern seating that barely covers the lower half of your back is both noisy and uncomfortable even though it looks amazing!

YES!
Mrs Jase gets sick of the bracelet roulette. Must be removed at ADL but fine in several other ports. Always with the standard “ ADL must calibrate their machine differently”
There are a number of posts on AFF that tend to agree that ADL is one of the worst airports in AU when it comes to traveller issues going through security. I have started a few and my primary home is in ADL.
QF should make 1 flight per week to/from all Intl destinations child free. People like us would pay double to fly on these flights
It will just not happen, these are the types of comments that I have reacted to in the past that almost got me kicked off AFF. I am yet to meet a traveller who is willing to pay double QF J or F prices, essentially paying for 4 seats instead of 2 (points, upgrade or cash). I do know a number of others, myself included, who are just willing and have the means to pay for the kids (points, upgrade or cash) to travel in the tin tube in a somewhat more comfortable environment.

@dajop I remember when the new QF lounge opened in MEL, somewhere between what is now gate 3-7 vicinity. In those days the most converted place was the at either end of the couch so you could make local calls on the phones.

I know it won’t happen, that’s why it’s on the outrageous thread.
I’m serious about paying extra though even if it was just for a quiet zone on an aircraft

To try and deflect the conversation from about simply sitting in planes, or trying to get onto planes (as the topic is partly "...Outrageous thoughts on any topic about flying), I like this immortal quote from Douglas Adams:
"There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss"
I try this every morning as I get out of bed it hasn't worked yet, but it might some day

I have an outrageous thought - I think everyone has a right to recline their seat, even the person in front of me.
That’s not considered outrageous in this current world with current attitudes towards others.
Unfortunately. :(

Am contemplating a really outrageous thought. Maybe all AFF'ers will admit that almost everything they expect is just stuff that we invent in our own minds. Unpublished benefits are exactly that. Maybe we could all admit that the airlines do actually publish their terms and conditions, and that we neglect to read them. That airlines put in clear caveats, that your seat selection is not a God-given sure right, that they may need to change your airplane, that they are just trying to run a business in a very hard world. It is said that consumers vote with their feet. If an airline could give everything that is desired, and still make money, then we all would no doubt flock to said airline.

I think I love Qantas more now than ever. Every single airline I have travelled on has issues. At least when I have these issues with Qantas I am dealing with Australians :)
