An armed quadcopter drone was found with explosives flying in Leipzig Airport cargo area near the Antonovs. Another drone collided with a DHL aircraft on final landing (no explosion) and forced the aircraft to divert along with other aircrafts.

This could be a one off or start of something bigger. Also of note, EU and NATO is already on edge after missiles landed in Poland the other day.

The Ukraine conflict has resulted in low scale war in Europe for some time now.

Russian munitions have landed in Poland as you mention, and also Romania.

There is the new incident above with militarised drones at a civilian airport which is a highly concerning escalation. And the Ukrainians set off a bomb in Monaco in June, targeting an Oligarch aligned with Russia.

Feels like there's going to be civilian casualties in Europe at some point

Unfortunately European aviation is no longer 100% safe from Russian aggression.
I would imagine western Europe is safe from direct aggression for now.
But the Nordic states, as far west as Germany, Austria and the Balkan states are all within Russian reach.
I would still fly there but the situation would be in the back of my mind.
And the 2024 parcel bombs attributed to Russia went as far as the UK so there is a small risk throughout Europe.

Of course Russia denies it is responsible for any of this.
But they also deny shooting down MH17.
They wold say that, wouldn't they.
