No, but it is moving to T2 (does that count? Nah, didn't think so). T2/T3 combo terminal makes this less an 'issue', new checkin desk FYI will be at western-most part of T2.
Currently, it is at the most Western End of T3, no more than 100 metres from TBIT, this will make it 300 metres to the same point (assuming T2 checkin hall stays where it is).

Any word on an airside transfer for passengers arriving on a Delta flight connecting to a VA flight?

At T5 there's the airside transfer bus and the walkway to TBIT.

Delta moves to LAX Terminals T2 T3 Virgin Australia stays at TBIT - Australian Business Traveller

Further down the track Delta will open a new connector linking T2 and T3 to the adjacent Tom Bradley International Terminal...

... and link all three terminals in a single precinct to be known as the Delta Sky Way.

Similar to the connector between Terminal 4 and TBIT, it will sit behind security and make for faster connections between flights at LAX, especially with Delta's international SkyTeam partners including Air France-KLM, Alitalia, China Eastern, China Southern and Korean Air.

More broadly, Delta's move at LAX is prompting:-

As I’ve explained before, Los Angeles International Airport is about to go undergo a huge game of airline “musical chairs.”

This is all being prompted by Delta — they’re vacating Terminals 5 and 6 and moving to Terminals 2 and 3, so that they can be closer to their partner airlines and have more consolidated operations.

Over a five day period in May, about one third of airlines operating out of LAX will change terminals. Per a press release from LAX:

Over a five-day period in May, one-third of our nearly 70 airline partners will relocate their operations, many of them to new terminals but others to new ticket counters in their current home. The moves will take place the nights of May 12, 14 and 16. Each airline will complete its relocation overnight, and start their operations in their new location the following morning.

DH (WP) just got a text, telling him he has access to EK lounge tonight.

Was reported there will be an airside T2 to TBIT bus serving Virgin, Volaris and presumably Avianca, Copa, Interjet who check-in at T3

Must say, considering the poor EY Sydney lounge offering, I think the TBIT EK is very nice.

Pre printed list at the door with names, opens at 18.30, greeted by at least 8 people as we walked in and currently sitting on the outdoor area (not deck, overlooking shops) and the food offering look very nice.

Poor EY Sydney lounge? I really like the SYD EY lounge. The service and separate dining area is great. If you want a poor lounge, transit through SIN in Y ;)

VA WP in Sydney just get a buffet, nothing special. I wondered if there was a secret room because I was underwhelmed by the Sydney Etihad lounge.

So any feedback on the Emirates Lounge at LAX for Plats? How does it stack up against the *A lounge?

In my limited experience I thought it was very nice, especially as for the time we were there, 6.30pm to approx 9pm, it didnt seem crowded.

Still miss the *A outdoor deck but for food, comfort and staff, 4 stars out of 5 from me. I thought it was much better than the Etihad lounge in Sydney.

Doors dont open until 6 or 6.30 (cant remember) for a 9.50pm flight. Greeted at the door, our names on a pre printed list to be ticked off. Greeted by the bathroom staff, greeted by the lounge staff, greeted by anyone that worked there basically.

Fresh food, buffet style, was fresh and lots of options - we didnt go hungry. We dont drink alcohol but I saw a number of people being served wine and any time I walked past the food area, I was asked if there was anything they could do for me. Looked like there was 2 bar areas.

Seating was inside with dining chairs & tables, armchairs and outside seating overlooking the terminal for people watching. My only complaint was the outside (really indoors, overlooking terminal) seating didnt seem to have any power points. Didnt need a shower but again, staff nearby to assit with towels ect. Outside also had a some dinning table/chairs.

Overall, I thought it was relaxed and I enjoyed the food.

"Outdoor" area, overlooking terminal.

There was also soups, satay, bread ect (didnt get a photo)

Well all looks great to me although i am flying out at 11.50PM. Thankyou for that review, much appreciated. Looking forward to trying it out if it's still available by the time i fly in 7 weeks.

My flight home to BNE was at 11am on Saturday so I unfortunately didn't have access to either Etihad or Emirates lounges as both were closed (WP flying J). Yesterday morning I received 10k velocity points as a 'goodwill' gesture - called to ask what they were for and they said due to the lounges being closed. Shame I didn't get a $40USD voucher but I can't really complain with 10000 points

Wait so there's no lounge access in LAX if flying VA6, the Saturday morning departure? I certainly didn't read that in any of the material announcing the new arrangements and it's not mentioned in the international lounge finder. That's pretty poor form.

I bloody would!

Me too!

I contacted VA via phone who said to submit a complaint form on the website. Will let you know how it goes

Received a reply this morning - another 10000 points credited. Guess it does pay off to complain lol

Well done and well-deserved IMO.

I wouldn't have thought there'd be too many airlines operating out of LAX TBIT that don't offer lounge access to elite and J pax.

Not sure if it it had been posted, but VA WP travelling on NZ metal, can still access the star first lounge. I'm currently here, but only for a meal, and will then head next door. And am able to guest in, if they're travelling on a star alliance flight.
