Hi all,

Just looked at reward seat for PREM-ECON LAX-Melb one way= 62800 points includes taxes

Now if this ticket is currently $
5,793.90to buy....

1. What is this value here? Not as good as business class upgrade but better on short notice?
2
. Do they restrict/remove closer to date of ticket?
3. Does the cost in points increase closer to flight date?
4. Do they include the 15% off velocity points in amount as no discount seen on above figure?

How many
rewards seats are allocated in each VA LAX flight for Econ/Premium/Business?

Regards

70500 is the normal redemption rate.

1. It's a one-way fare - those tend to be where awards with VA have there greatest cost/benefit. ($$$ return flight are often cheaper than one-way on this route/class).

2. Once the avialability goes, it is less liekly to return - that why I tend to secure premium cabin rewards many months out.

3. One the 15% promotion is over, the points cost will increase.

4. That rate includes the 15% discount.

[bonus question] That information is CiC and can vary with month, day of week and other factors. You can try seeing the max you can book when they may first become available 330 days out.
