I am arriving in LAX from QF11. Need to go to Hollywood (Hollywood Blvd) where we are staying. 2 pax (myself and pregnant wife). What is the best way to go. Super Shuttle/Prime Time shared vans or Taxi. We have no time constraints. Taxi would be quicker but more expensive I think. Any thoughts. Never been to LA before.

Also will need to go from Hollywood to the Port of LA Cruise terminal (on a Sunday pm). Is a shuttle the way to go?

Direct from LAX to your destination of Hollywood, CA

A shuttle might be cheaper for one person, but not for two or more. See below:

$ 2.85 Flag Drop - $40.55 Mileage Charge (14x$2.70) per mapquest - $ 2.50 LAX Surcharge - Total $ 43,.05

Note: Time charges will vary depending on traffic and signals. Estimate between $2.00 - $4.00

It's about 31 miles from Hollywood to the cruise terminal. Est. $86.55 ( 83.70+ 2.85)

Enjoy your trip and congratulations on your upcoming birth.

Google town car and lax as this might offer you more options. After a long flight, especially when you have not arrived into LAX previously might be a slightly daunting experience. However, if you arrange for a Town Car to pick you up at the airport, there will be a driver waiting for you holding a sign with your name etc, cars are generally much cleaner than a taxi, and although the cost is slightly more it will be a much nicer trip for your pregnant wife.

I assume you have not been to the USA before seeing you have not flown into LAX before, so allow %10-%15 of your spending money for tipping and there are threads on this site concerning that topic. Even cab drivers in the USA expect a tip.

I've booked a Town Car through limo res (via jetblue site for discount). $77 LAX-Beverly Hills (inc.Tax and Tip, excl. tolls). I had a look on taxifarefinder.com and it looked roughly $60-65 for the same route, I'll be doing it about 8-9am in the morning so busy traffic I'd expect so I thought the fact that this is fixed cost vs meter in a taxi that it's worth the extra cash just to know it's fixed. Plus a Town Car is far nicer than a cab IMO:)
