Recently I booked a USA flight with Air NZ while it was still on sale.
Went through the whole process including seat selection and payment.
Sky couch was on sale as well for almost half price so I thought bugger it and booked it return.
I checked my bank account and all "pending" charges agreed with my booking.
A couple of days I checked my bank account and the pending amount had changed to a lower figure which amounted to the sky couch seats being taken off my booking.
So I rang the call centre and the operator said of course you can have a Skycouch for an extra $660 each way.
"But" I protested I've already booked it while the sale was on and now it has disappeared along with all my seat selections (flying from Cairns so 4 legs).
She said that the Skycouch is never on sale and basically I was wrong.
"No" I insisted I was correct and then she asked if I minded holding while she conferred with colleagues.
About 15 minutes on hold she came back on the line and said that she had been onto the IT department who said/confirmed that I clicked on those extras, seat selection, sky couch and extra bag but they had somehow disappeared into cyberspace.
She then had to get authorisation to re-issue my booking and charge the extra (refunded) back to my account at the sale price.
So all ended well but what a mix up.
And check your bank account. :)

Thanks for the heads-up.

Yes, when booking fares it's never done until the e-ticket is issued.

The e-ticket was issued when I made the booking.
Then when I looked at the booking I noticed no seat selection but it says that multi destination bookings changes cannot be made on line so wasn't too worried.
I only became suspicious when I noticed the changes in "pending" on my account.

Very lucky you spotted that. I've never booked sky couch but may do one day. My seats go missing when there's plane swaps which isn't often. I don't check my account after, I just look at my NZ app.

Yes - and there was only one skycouch left on the return leg - don't know what would have happened if someone else had taken it - maybe there was my first upgrade to premium - just dreaming. :D

I think a skycouch beats premium economy. To business class you might have come out in front :)

Here's hoping you are right - something to look forward to anyway:)
