The damaged A380 VH-OQI is operating as QF6021 due into SYD this evening.

The 747 VH-OEI operated QF108 into SYD Sunday morning.

Will VH-OQI go straight back into revenue service tomorrow (4 March 2014) or are further repairs necessary? If the latter, will it be another few days before pax can board?

The delayed QF94D A388 has just touched down at MEL after a clear run in at a very quiet time for MEL airport, so it should be secured by chocks at about 2156. Let's see if the eight hour or so late QF9 with the same bird (VH-OQJ) can be on its way by 0001 on Sunday morning. My hunch is 'no' but time will tell.

UPDATE:

QF9 departed MEL at 0009 on Sunday 2 March for LHR via DXB.

And I was one of the passengers :)

I spent my first time in the Melbourne lounge....7 hours of drinking and eating went quite well and the obliging man on the desk kept trying to find me better seats right up until boarding time as the seats I had chosen magically disappeared with the incident....in the end I had 3 seats to myself to DXB and got upgraded to PE DXB-LHR....

Not sure if Red Roo had something to do with it as I had a bit of a whinge, but I was quite pleased with my outcome, so thank you QF and/or Red Roo :)
