Just thought I'd share that JetStar is running a weekend fare sale thru 11:59 PM on Monday. Most of the fares appear to be for travel through the month of August. Some of the fares I'm seeing include:
  • Sydney to Melbourne (Avalon) from $39
  • Sydney to Gold Coast from $40
  • Sydney to Brisbane from $60
  • Sydney to Cairns from $99
These are all one-way fares based on a Starter fare (i.e. no QF status credits, meals or checked bags included).

At the same time, JetStar is running a promotion for travel to the NT which must be booked by 11:59 PM on Monday as well for travel throughout 2022 and 2023. Some fares I see include:
  • Sydney to Uluru from $99 for travel between 21 Jul to 21 Sept 2022, 9 Oct to 29 Dec 2022, and 03 Jan thru 23 Mar 2023
  • Sydney to Darwin from $129 for travel between 10 Oct - 24 Dec 2022 and 03 Jan 2023 to 23 Mar 2023
These dates are quite favourable and could certainly include those of us wanting to visit our friends and relatives during XMAS holiday.

Hope this provides marginal value to those who frequent JétStar.

I booked a few of these $24 flights, now fingers crossed they don’t get cancelled or moved four hours later.
Crikey, I see JQ has raised the fares on their service to Perth! Just last month I booked Sydney to Perth for $18 one-way on a Club JQ fare. Hopefully this trend is reversed soon! Otherwise, this 'roo can't sprint across country for weekend trips anymore! 😂

They have different sales all the time. Their sale now is not as good as the one last week.

The latest “return for free” birthday sale, never seen such long lead in times for flights and such small periods, all feb/ march 2024 (from MEL)

$18 for SYD-PER. What a bargain - add a max bundle for $85 = $103 for 40 SCs.

Although I now notice that Max bundles have increased to $90 in the last couple of weeks!!

Terms are not clear but my interpretation is

1. Double points exclude status bonus

2. The share of 5 million points is 1 entry per passenger and not 1 per booking

Having just booked (12 Mar) a Max Bundle flight for May I checked the current price... About $14 more.....
Not worth cancelling and re-booking for a few thousand points.

lol equal share of 5,000,000 points …. so 10 points each? 🤣

I think the seats were released but the website got overwhelmed
I was checking every couple of mins since 9am AEST, and the seats only showed about 25 mins later and the deal was updated 10 mins after that

Fares were definitely loaded at 9am but the price list wasn't made available until much later. You had to blindly search through random routes and dates to see what was available. I searched for the longer routes first and got lucky with Perth. I received the booking confirmation email at 9.16am.

$29 starter fare for SYD-MEL with First class lounge
Hopefully it sticks and doesn’t switch to “No lounge”. But I do want to try one of those one day… Knowing my luck, it would probably switch to SYD T2 to AVV…😏
