LATAM Airlines Delays/Cancellations

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

LA800 on Friday 19 August pushed back in SYD at 1155, with AKL arrival suggested as 50 minutes behind the timetable at 1710 hours.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

Not a good day for passengers flying AKL-SCL on today's (Friday 28 August) LA800 service. With a scheduled departure time of 1810 the flight only departed AKL at 2228.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

Saturday 22 October has LA801 (0830 from AKL to SYD) delayed until 1240 with a predicted 1220 rather than 1010 arrival. LA800 back to AKL and on to SCL will be delayed.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

On Sunday 23 October, LA800 from SYD to AKL and on to SCL is again tardy, with quite a serious delay as the 1200 timetabled departure has become 1640 hours.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

On Thursday 27 October, LA801 will be very late into SYD, with departure from AKL predicted as 1400 hours instead of 0830 and consequent arrival in the Australian mainland harbour city at about 1540 instead of 1010. LA800 back to AKL and SCL will inevitably be similarly tardy.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

Thursday 10 November sees LA800, the 1110 'tag flight' from SYD to AKL that proceeds to distant SCL expected to instead depart from the Australian mainland harbour city at 1400 hours.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

Friday 11 November 2016 sees LA800, the 1110 hours SYD - AKL 'tag flight' not having become airborne until 1705. Arrival should be at 2200 hours instead of 1655 after which the plane should eventually continue to SCL. Aircraft is B789 CC-BGJ.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

The Saturday 19 November LA800 to AKL and SCL is predicted to depart SYD at 1320, 140 minutes tardy.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

On Monday 19 December, LA801 from AKL should arrive SYD at 1100, 105 minutes late. Aircraft is B789 CC-BGG. This will delay the returning LA800 to AKL and SCL.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

LA800 on Tuesday 3 January should depart from SYD at 1330 rather than 1110 hours.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

On Monday 22 May 2017, LA800 from SYD to AKL, the 1110 hours (B789 CC-BGH) took off at 1235 hours. The Border Force passport IT network for Australian passport holders had broken down worldwide.

AKL arrival is suggested as 1733 hours, 73 minutes tardy.

Re: General LAN Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

LATAM is mostly punctual into and out of SYD (lately) but on Sunday 13 August LA801 from AKL to SYD is expected to arrive at 0943 hours, 33 minutes late. Aircraft is B789 CC-BGK.

Thursday 20 September 2018 sees LA801 from AKL across to SYD, the 0725 hours that was airborne at 0842 likely to arrive at 0951, 36 late with B789 CC-BGN.

Friday 7th of Dec sees LA805 SCL-MEL (CC-BGE) 12 45 service depart until 14 07, it landed at 18 06, 36 behind schedule. This shouldn't delay too much the leg back, LA804.

Thursday 13th of Dec sees the 7 35 service, LA801 AKL-SYD (CC-BGB), taking off until 10 17. Arrival is predicted at 11 24, 129 min late.

One I missed yesterday was that on Friday 4 January 2019, LA804, the 2010 hours was badly delayed and took off on Saturday 5 at 0043 hours. B789 CC-BGF should arrived at 2239 hours, 214 minutes late.

On Saturday 27 April 2019, LA804, the 1245 hours lunchtime MEL - SCL is expected to depart nine hours late at 2145 mid evening. This is because the arrival (LA805) that usually is at gate at 0545 bright and early on a Saturday morning is instead having its blocks on at a predicted 1945 tomorrow evening, so 14 hours late.

A 2145 hours departure from MEL means approximately a 2100 hours same day arrival in SCL. This will resultb in some with connections missing them, but for those bound for Santiago de Chile who were merely checking into an hotel a 2300 arrival at accommodation, while late, is not disastrous.

UPDATE: The very late LA805 should arrive in MEL on Saturday 27 April at about 1936 tonight in the shape of B789 CC-BGE.

Arrived a little earlier than this but still nearly 14 hours late. Uggh LA is not good with service in irrops, at least in their SCL hub.

Kiwi_Flyer, for the benefit of prospective and regular travellers on LATAM, would you be kind enough to fill us in a little more as to why?

Agree, LATAM in general are not good with delays. I regularly travel SCL-LIM and plenty of times I’ve been delayed with no explanation. I’ve also tried in the past moving to another flight as a result of lengthy delays by LATAM and refused even though a)it would get me to LIM earlier b)plenty of spare seats available on flights. SCL in general is not an airport i enjoy transiting, but may be my personal preference.

Even though the MEL-SCL sounds a great option as reduces the amount of stops, I’d still rather fly via SYD and fly QF, even with their 747s
