I know its a long shot however. Ive been given some time off work starting next week for a few weeks. Thinking of bali alone.

Been there many times. Love it

I know last minute flights are aleays expensive. Howver melb to singapore. Thailand. Malaysia are all as cheap as 500 return.

However bali is almost 1000 return.

Any methods/chances/techniques to get them to similisr pricing?

Stay between 5 and 10 nights

Where are you departing from??

Budget airlines ok for you??

From melb, airasia and scoot combined would get you there and back $633 ++ 6-13 sept

Have you looked at Malindo Air? If you can get yourself to Brisbane, Malindo has flights BNE-DPS-BNE for ~$635 return (e.g. 5-13 September), including baggage, meals etc. In J they're under $1,200 return.

thanks eveyrone, im used to paying $3XX on sale with jetstar
obviousl at short notice it wont be as cheap, but since areas such as thailand, singapore etc for the same period are as low as $385, im thinking of going there instead

however utimately bali would be my prefeerce

Pretty sure Jet* had a special on this last week, may still be current

I just searched MH, next week and week after. $416 go there, $375 coming back.

I would not fly Air Asia or Malindo, unless you want to claim life insurance. Watch Foreign Correspondent on ABC about those 2 airlines. No one in the aviation industry dare fly them.
