I'm a DYKWIA - I don't do lines :)

Still quite like the Planet Hollywood gaming floor too.

Would easily stay at Elara again or try Bellagio for the right rate. Locations are just amazing.

Did you get any HH Diamond benefits? I'm going in July for a couple of days and I can't decide whether to pull the trigger on Velocity partner HHD and stay at Elara or Trop or to just try and find a good deal on somewhere like PH or Hard Rock or one of the modern places...

I just got back from a bucks weekend in Vegas. We stayed at The Cosmopolitan, awesome place in a great location. When booking, the wrap-around terrace suite was more than US$400 (per night) more expensive than the one bedroom terrace suite we ended up booking. Upon check-in, we were offered an upgrade to the wrap-around suite at US$160 per night, outstanding value. Our suite was on the 61st floor, with one side of the terrace being towards the strip and the other directly across from the Bellagio fountains!

Would always return to The Cosmopolitan, though probably pricier than other places in Vegas. The Marquee was excellent, too!

The Mandalay Bay - The Hotel. Every room is a suite. Big Lounge room and separate bedroom. You usually will get a deal for same price as a hotel room in the middle of the strip. Great night club on the top floor.
I have stayed at The Paris and New York New York (they are just average hotel rooms) - would pick Mandalay Bay every time

I second that, I too prefer "The Hotel" it is excellent, and the best steak I've ever had ever was from stripsteak in the Mandalay complex.

Don't forget to hand over a $20 note at checkin. ;)

That wraparound suite at the Cosmopolitan is very hard to beat. We've stayed at the Bellagio, Venetian and Trump but a week in the Cosmo wraparound suite topped them all, love the wicked spoon buffet there too.

I would NOT recommend the Venetian. Other than the very slow and impersonal service which made me feel like I was in a factory production line, not unlike other big casino hotels in Vegas I s'pose, I arrived in my room to find a towel with the previous occupant's pubic hair in it.

My only other stay at the Planet Hollywood was rather Ho hum but I see it doesn't exist now.

Actually I'm not a big fan of Vegas at all and wouldn't return if I can help it so maybe that's coloured my views of the hotels there.

Second visit received an upgrade and high floor, 2 bottles of water and free Internet.

Loved it but wouldn't decide my stay in Vegas based on HH benefits. That would simply be a bonus if booked.
