Ladies who shop !!

Im not an outlet shopper, cant stand crowds. Once went to South Wharf on Boxing Day and abandoned the husband at JBHiFi and went back to the hotel. I cant understand people queuing and cannot understand why people bring babies in strollers! I dont even do grocery shopping in Dec because of the crowds at Coles.

Power to those that can do it, I just cant.

Mrsdrron found her first outlet mall in New Hampshire in 1982.It had only a few stores but she was hooked. We have been to outlet malls all over the world since.Though now she only has specific stores she wants to see.We have been to the first outlet mall that opened in the US in Reading Pennsylvannia. It had a really good Liz Claiborne outlet. Both the company and the original outlet now gone.
One of the best used to be in Manchester,Vermont. Not really a mall as outlets all over the village. It was, however, where some companies had their outlet of outlets where things such as Armani and Burberry could be had for 90% off.No longer unfortunately as outlets have become so popular especially with tourists such discounts no longer have to be offered.

I agree in regards to DFO and the crowds but in the States I have never had that problem they are so large and spread out. Used to like the ones in Las Vegas but have not been there for a few years and there was another good one North of LA I think it was called Ontario Mills

We went to the outlets in Vegas last December. It was exceptionally busy - mainly with Chinese tourists buying up BIG. On our way back to the car park we follows a couple with a shopping trolley FULL of Coach bags, they got to their car -a large SUV and opened the door to stuff these bags into the back already full of Coach bags !!! There were lines outsides the shops of people waiting to get into the shop - this was at Tory Burch, Coach Burberry !!!

Oh yes I had forgotten about Coach in Hawaii I must admit its the same, Japanese tourists mainly....managed to pick up some little purses in Coach in Carmel at 60% discount and hardly anyone in the shop

Mrscove bought two cute mini Dooney and Bourke handbags as gifts on this latest trip.
Del Amo Fashion Center is 2.6 million square feet of shopping now that it is finished. The same company has the Camarillo Outlet Mall if you are looking for bargains.
Ross Dress For Less have a 10% off on Tuesdays for seniors (over 62).
Major brands are getting into Costco too in California.

Ski pants. Are they like rain pants and you wear clothing underneath them?
You wear thermals underneath.

Back to the outlet discussion. Just came back from Woodbury Commons. That’s probably my fave outlet shopping anywhere. Desert Hills a close second.
Saint Laurent, Gucci, Fendi, Burberry, Celine, Balenciaga, Dior, Chloe, Givenchy and Valentino.
Plus the usual Saks off 5th, Ralph Lauren, Coach.
It is retail heaven but could be deathly for the credit cards :p

How do you get to Woodbury Commons from Times Square as we have never bothered. Five shows in five nights do tend to keep you from getting out there.
Our favourite outlet Mall is Camarillo which is an easy drive out of Los Angeles and the weather is so much easier to deal with year round.

There’s reasonable affordable private transport options but I was with a friend and we did it budget style on the Shortline CoachUSA bus from the Port Authority depot on 8th and 42nd.

Dooney and Bourke are my favourites. They last for years and great quality.

Dooney and Bourke is a great American brand and I believe they offer a repair/restoration service which will get your older ones back to just like new. Their bags are keepers.
I have a Briggs and Reilly wheeled briefcase and it stows neatly onboard in the overhead bins. Saves your arms and shoulders aching.

Was going to say I love Woodbury Commons. Best to take an empty suitcase and comfortable shoes! I’ve always driven up but yes - there is a bus from the Port Authority.

It’s always best too check their website and then at the visitor counter as you can usually pick up coupons for extra discounts in some stores etc.

I really like D&B. I had one that needed repair and sent it back. They couldn’t repair it so sent back a similar model but much smaller. I was a bit disappointed, but still like them.

A few years ago we did the outlet shops in Jersey, caught the bus from Port Authority ..more old style outlet but lots of bargains to be had

It is generally known that I like shoes !

Looking at the Nordstrom website I saw these and that I would check out the brand as I did not know it. Handy for our upcoming cruise !

Mrscove wears Arche shoes these days. High heels are history. Years ago I used to get her Bruno Magli matching shoes and handbags.
