Ladies who shop !!

Hubbys first trip to the US was when it was on parity.... he had a blast. He took me to Tiffanys on 5th Avenue and I took him to the Gibson guitar factory in Memphis, which is where he bought his Les Paul
I had to buy two new suitcases to fit everything in. And I still remember dragging that empty case up from Macy’s right through Times Square and up a few Avenues to get to our Hotel. In the rain of course.

Oh for the good old days of currency parity.
I also used MyUSA back then with great regularity. Even Amazon did great deals often with free shipping- I bought many of my Arche shoes from
Amazon with free delivery.
On a trip to NYC in 2011 an extra suitcase had to be purchased to get all the goodies home.
We can only dream of such things today....sigh..

I remember those glory days. Africa was wonderful as well, as the camps quote in US$ so it all became very cheap!

We sure noticed it when we were in New York last May. On the other hand Master FM was in Sydney for two weeks in December and stayed in a 5 star hotel, rather than finding an AirBNB. When I chipped him about it (as mothers do), he said it was so cheap so why not. A combination of a good exchange (for him) and getting paid far too much by Google!

I brought back 13kg of shopping from my first NYC trip. That’s when our dollar was better than parity!

I bought new Cambridge Audio earphones the other day on Amazon. They won’t shop to AU. USD was $95. Around $220 here (if you can find them). Had them shipped to a colleague and she’s bringing them to me next week!

My Mum still has many yards of hot pink linen that I bought in NYC on the trip where we got engaged (1999). She hasn't yet made the suit I was asked her to - I'm sure I was intending to be smaller or something like that. I remember lugging all that material up multiple city blocks, walking around NYC. Sheesh.

For one glorious year I had a credit card with pounds loaded on it. Not by me. I had a blast spending it while I was overseas! And it sure made the sticker shock of going to Iceland bearable. It was a lovely gift from someone dear to me. Pity it had a limit. ;)

I must admit we bought a new case in Reykjavik but that was for the reindeer rug and Icelandic sheepskin rug. The case was a carry on size and was always referred to as the 'reindeer case'. After many years of use, we have now 'gifted' to our son. :D

We had a "Walmart bag" that ended up being nieces when she moved to Darwin.

So gifting is what we do to make ourselves feel less guilty.

Go Peter Sheppard web site is what I have been told if you are in Australia. Their Melbourne store is a lot better than their Sydney store.

Have to be low.....I do like the flats have to say. Too many years of not wearing heels
I miss my heel days :(

Yes I had a lovely pair of gold stiletto Jimmy Choos that sit in my wardrobe ( I just cant throw them out !) - I can only wear a low to medium wedge now - ever since I smashed my leg/ankle and now it is held together with metal plates and screws.

If you like FitFlop - sign up you will get a discount.
As Cove said Peter Sheppard have a good range - but their Sydney store is now half the size it used to be !

Has anyone tried

I only wear flats or very low and I love Peter Shepherd. I found the service in their Brisbane store very good - Sydney was quite poor.
