Anyone had experience of flying with the budget priced Kulula in South Africa?

I'm looking at a flight from Durban to Johannesburg and it would be convenient to fly into Lanseria airport rather than O R Tambo. It looks like only Kulula use that airport.

Thanks
David M

I've flown them many times. (But to Cape Town, not Durban.)

Its a Budget Carrier, with cheerful but professional service and excellent flight crew.

The company is owned by Comair, an established player in the South African airline industry.

Hi, last time I flew them they were quite good for a low-cost carrier. They mainly use fairly old B737s, think they are the 200-series (the ones where the back of the engine appears to fall off when it lands presumably to help the plane slow down). They are the only major carrier using Lanseria, which means you are exposed if anything goes wrong as it is way the other side of Joburg to OR Tambo. Lanseria also has no sort of facilities you'd expect at an aiport, or least that was case several years ago when I was last there. Comair, as mentioned, is the owner, they also operate the BA franchise in South Africa, flying newer 737s, some of which are ex-QF I believe.
