KUL SIN lounge crawl 7 June 2015

We are flying into Singapore on the 7th, but are staying overnight and leaving late the next day, maybe next time.

I dropped by the T2 staff canteen for lunch today, and it's as buzzling as ever. FYI - this is what I had today (links to someone's blog) FoodieFC: Ngee Kee Fried Hokkien Mee (Changi Airport T2 Staff Canteen) 2nd Post

Given our late arrival into SIN, MH using T2, and being slightly bigger than the one in T1 (20+ stalls, plenty of seats/tables), this would be the best place for lunch on this occasion. This should have us airside at roughly 3pm (allowing for check-in/transit time), and leaves us 4-5 hours for the crawl.

Great work Awesom Andy!

The MH timings are really awkward for getting back to HKG on the Sunday. To get back to HKG on Sunday night so I can get to work on Monday morning, I would have to leave SIN on MH at 3.40pm or 3K at 3.45pm. What's our schedule for SIN again?

Otherwise I might buy MH J HKG-KUL-SIN for about HKD$4k and then buy a CX ticket exSIN (or do a points redemption)

I'm jumping between CMB, KL and SG earlier in the week, might get to KL the day before to join you from Langkawi but not too fussed.

I also went to book 627 last week and noticed inventory was zeroed out and then been pulled from the GDS. I assume many are now aiming for MH603? We wouldn't mind the sleep in and breakfast at the Hilton/meridian/aloft/whatever so might take the KUL-SIN flight around 1430 only because they're (apparently) running a 772... probably one of the ones they're trying to sell now they've dropped FRA with more to come. One less narrow body to fly on! Worth it in J I suppose but maybe not so much in Y.

With my +1 Singaporean I don't think we really long to go to the staff canteens, I've been to KUL and SIN 20 times in the past year so will try to hook up for the lounge parts.

Someone asked about using the MH complex for arrivals, I've tried it quite a few times now, always in J and emerald however. But it appears more a J thing because I was once told the policy was I had to use the business lounge (one would assume F arrivals could use the platinum lounge). So that once I went left instead of right but every other time I've been welcomed right.

Those of us on 627 were moved onto 603 due to a cancellation. That is now the 'party plane'. :)

Are we still good for afternoon tea on the Saturday? And would I be safe to assume that we want to go to Jalan Alor for dinner?

Starting to look at how I would get to KUL, and the answers to the above would make a difference. Embarrassingly, I'm considering a cross-border bus.

After afternoon tea and a few hours in the HH exec lounge I doubt I will want dinner. But if I do, Jalan Alor sounds like just the place.

Whilst I am likely to be in the region, I am unfortunately unlikely to make this do unless it is relocated to CMB, BKK or HKG...

Which day are you in BKK? I am there on 04 June, 06 June, 07 June, 11 June and 15 June.

Hey Andy, I'm up for Jalan Alor for dinner on Saturday. Not really an afternoon tea kinda guy, though I'll go with the flow.

So who is actually staying in KL? I'm at the Doubletree from Thursday night.
