Hi All,

Next month I'm coming back from Europe and have an overnight stop at KUL (Sama Sama hotel). Just wondering what the lounge options are like for the morning departure. I leave at 0920 on Malaysian in J and am currently QF Gold. There seem to be multiple lounges at KUL, keen for any information/recommendations about which to use, and if their breakfast offerings are ok or should I grab a snack in the terminal.

Thanks.

Yup, agree with @trippin_the_rift
Golden Lounge in Satellite terminal is the go. Decent food, good coffee made on request, plenty of seating (if its full in the main area, head forward on the left side, there are other hidden rooms down the back)
Keep an eye on departure boards, no boarding announcements from memory

A related question: flying with MH soon MEL-KUL, connecting to KUL-PEN with 3 hours layover. Travelling in J, QF Gold here.

Am I right to assume I cannot use the lounges in the satellite, but need to clear immigration and then proceed to the domestic pier and use the lounge there? Thanks in advance.

In this situation, I usually go to the regional Golden Lounge on the main terminal for a while before I do the immigration clearance. Better meals, showers and full bar. And it's only 2 minutes walk down to transit immigration, which itself is then right next to the domestic pier.

Thank you so much, Archipelago. That's a great tip and the full bar will be made good use of.

Yup, respect. That bar is awesome. And a totally different experience from the 'dry' domestic Golden lounge. I've been lucky enough that most of my international to domestic transits through that terminal have been around 2 hours + in duration. Have made good use of the regional Golden Lounge in that time. Quick shower, grab some nice food and hit the bar before doing the immigration downstairs. Even the farthest gate is only 5 minutes walk from the immigration mid-concourse.
