Hello everyone!

I am soon to be flying Sydney - Dallas on Qantas in J with my 4 year old daughter. I'm interested to know whether the kids meals in J are the same as in Y?

Thanks
W-K

We flew LAX-MEL in QF J with our two year old son last year as part of a RTW trip (I know - insane! My wife's brother was getting married in Mexico). He received terrific service from the FA including J kids meal which was different food to Y and served on china. They also made him a terrific toasted cheese sandwich when he woke starving somewhere over the Pacific!!

Hi, We flew J ADL/SIN and the food service for our 2.5 year old was very good. Actually when we started our meals they brought out a plate of salad and cold cuts and I thought "that's fairly ordinary for J!" only to find out that was her entree followed by a pretty tasty lasagna. Can't remember how dessert went, I'd had too much wine by then, but it was certainly over and above Y in all aspects and their service was very good, if I was made of money i'd always fly J with our toddler, she loved it possibly more than I did!

I have out photos up in another thread ... Will try to find a link for you ...

Here's the thread with some J and Y child's meal photos: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....0-biz-class-kids-meal-47130-2.html#post754887

Y amd J kids' meals are definitely different. As has been mentioned, there can be a lot of food for J kids meals, seems to typically be ham & tomatoes for entree, then pasta for main, pizza for snacks. But we've upgraded more on points than flown on J tickets, and have only gotten child's meals on J tickets. Typically the upgraded flights have been late departures, and Little Miss has fallen asleep before the food service.

Now that I think about it, Y+ and J child's meal are closer than Y and J. Am pretty sure Little Miss got ham & tomatoes with pasta for main in both Y+ BNE-LAX in 2010 and J BNE-SIN in 2011.
