Kids in J on Qantas

Same thing happened to us - same flight and number of travellers. QFF sorted it out and were given the same sort of seats, pairs in the middle - we were very happy with the outcome.

The four of us have also won the upgrade lottery on QF 11 into F .... they're all singles in that cabin so it doesn't matter where you sit. Same trip we got an OpUp with AA Montreal-Miami it's a relatively short flight so we didn't bother disturbing the peace and accepted the seats as given .... we were very happy to get the OpUp

Don't get me wrong - very happy with the upgrade and TBH really wasn't expecting it for 4 pax. Just curious...

Yup - we are still paying and the youngest is now 23..... On the whole they pay for themselves and book Y but all too often I feel guilty and say I will pay and somehow my conscience doesn't seem to allow me to book anything other than J....

I know what you mean. Some years ago our kids were old enough to suggest that we all go on a family holiday together for once! We travelled from PER to SYD on VA in Y (never again). The flight across the Tasman was on the EK 777 to CHC and returning from AUK on the EK A380.

We had enough Skywards points from an earlier trip to upgrade 2 of us both directions or 4 of us one way. I chose to give the kids a treat and upgrade 4 to J on the A380 back from AUK.

Funny thing was 2 days before leaving PER I had an email from EK asking would I like to upgrade the SYD to CHC flights for $137 per person to J.

I have never jumped on-line so fast in my life.

The kids were thrilled , we were thrilled and it was one of the best holidays we ever had. Both J flights were a complete surprise to them.
