Just missing out on Level 2 Renewal

Our company has been a bit dormant with International travel since Covid but it has just picked up again this year. We are short of renewing Level 2 Business Rewards by 990 points. It will be sad to drop a level. Because the points earn is so much lower (20% compared to 30%) it may be that we wont get back to Level 2.

I've just spent $22,300 over the last year and most in Feb 2024 according to the reporting but some of those flights have not been taken. I expect to make another 8k of bookings this month.

The additional complication is that we recently took out a ANZ Qantas Business Rewards card and it has a level 2 advance but it seems you only qualify for this if you are level one when you first earn points on the card. We've earned points on the card and had them credited but we are currently level 2.

Questions
Has anyone had experience with getting comped?
Who or how would you ask?
Any tips to get 990 points - No one in the company really has the time to fly by the end of the month.

I am posting here live from a SYD-OOL flight having left MEL this morning.

This will be enough to requalify level 2.

For us it was worth the under $200 fare.

The minimum earn for level 2 is 240 points in economy and 420 in business. Based on that you need from five segments in economy.

With a week to go it is pretty tough. e.g. OOL via SYD/MEL can be had for $329 - but can't see much change from $900.

Unless there's an AMEX QF business card involved. That earns 3x QBR (60 per 100 for level 1, 90 per 100 for level 2 or 120 per 100 for level 3).

Perhaps you guys could also get a AMEX approved and then do a status run flight?
A short hop return (ADL - MEL) with 90 per 100 on the AMEX card would earn you 1440 points as level 2.
