Just thought I'd share my excitement to have hit this milestone with QF...
Have been Platinum with VA since they introduced the tier but changes to travel patterns etc has seen me switch back to Qantas as of January, having not flown with them for many many years. I've been flying monthly returns Sydney to India in flexY since January and ticked over 1400 on my outward flight yesterday. Sadly was 15 points short of being able to sample the F lounge prior to departure but looking forward to it next trip.
Overall have enjoyed the service on QF lately - the occasional hiccup aside it's been much better than I remembered and yesterday's QF127 upgrade to the old F cabin was a real highlight. The seat was amazing - by far the best "J" seat I've had the pleasure of sitting in, in Row 4 I had enough space to myself that you could probably have fitted two of Etihad's business class seats in the same space. The crew though were what really made the experience. Cannot thank them enough. This was the best business class long haul experience I've had, and I've had more than a few...
Have be been fairly lucky with upgrades ever since I hit gold - 4/5 requested have come through, the only one that was denied was on an already oversold flight. So fingers crossed that ratio holds or improves now I've levelled up again.
On track to hit maybe 2400 SCs for the year so lots of flying left in front of me - but it feels nice to have a shiny black card with Qantas for the first time.
