Jetstar to fly non-stop daily Melbourne-Singapore, Auckland-Singapore flights
Jetstar has announced the first destinations for its new Singapore-based wide-body A330 operation, with daily direct flights to both Melbourne and Auckland.
The daily non-stop services between Melbourne and Singapore will commence operation from 16 Dec 2010, while the new Auckland route will debut 17 Mar 2011.
Jetstar said the move would grow the Qantas Group's presence in the two markets, with the services offering a QF code share and connectivity to both Jetstar and Qantas flights through Singapore.
Special sale fares for the Melbourne-Singapore flights will be available today between 5pm and 7pm from just $99 one way, with a further sale all day tomorrow from $249 one way, and fares will also be on offer through to Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Jakarta and coughet.
The Melbourne A330 route will see Jetstar operating head to head with Qantas long-haul services to Singapore.
Jetstar ceo Bruce Buchanan said the new long-haul base in Singapore would create an array of "new affordable travel options.
"Connecting our three largest operations in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore strengthens each of these businesses and builds a solid foundation for future growth beyond Singapore to North Asia and Europe," he said.
