This has only occurred after the QF website "upgrade" (aka ASAgate). Has QF upgraded their FF systems too?

Workaround for now is to make booking without QFF number and call the contact centre and get them to add it manually.
I had this problem on Monday when trying to finalise the booking when logged into "My Jetstar".
I eneded up completing the booking without logging in and the problem went away (points have posted to my QFF account).
Sounds a bit like some other airlines solution to their web site problems - send more work to the call centre staff instead of fixing the problem....
Hmm, never knew there was validation before.. Maybe they're planning on giving status recognition on JQ in the future? :O
