Take it with a grain of salt re the source, interesting

@StevePurvinas
Rumour that a Jetstar 787 Dreamliner in Cairns has endured major cracks In windows and wings after a heavy landing. More to come...

Rego VH-VKD? Was only delivered a few days ago.

Thinking perhaps just a rumor cant find anything on the web about it!

It would be on the ground at Cairns then. According to the Flightaware it hasn't moved since the 14th.

Out on a limb here, but is a "hard landing" a piloting error? or some malfunction with the aircraft itself?

I think the Cairns Post might still employ a reporter or two. Could be a breaking story for them!

Well, if the time-stamps are right, VH-VKD (the 3rd 787) arrived in CNS on 14th Jan at 17:41 (Flight Aware seems to give local times). Steve Purvinas tweeted on 14th Jan at 14:35 (AESST?).

VH-VKB (the 2nd 787) was in CNS 31st Dec to 13th Jan but is now flying SYD-DPS. So if it's VH-VKB that is the aircraft in question, it's in service now.

It would have had to be one heck of a hard landing, and I'd have thought they were designed with the occasional hard landing in mind.
