The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

As I seem to read it, the cheapest flight in the sale is MEL-SIN for approx. $1000 return for 240SCs....not bad value

Fantastic value if you have a need to be in SIN during the promotion period.

Hmmm.... may be the time to go and tick the Singapore Zoo off my to-do list :D

Starclass AKL-SIN for 599 NZD (~450 AUD) is another good deal. Works out to be around 3.18 AUD/SC.

I'd buy one in the blink of an eye, but I don't have any spare time in May and I don't want to overspend for QF Gold.

My buying period to renew will be Aug 2011 to Aug 2012.

No doubt similar promos will reappear for later on.

SYD-NRT via CNS for $825 is tempting,if I can find some "reasonably" priced accomodation I may even be tempted enough to book.
Cheers

Not bad, except the uno problemo you have is a cost effective way of getting to (and possibly from) AKL.

I'm strongly tempted by the SIN deals though!

For NRT (actually TYO), try looking at some of the Weekly Mansions. Basically apartment rooms; of course compact compared to Western standards, but can do the job at rates between AUD 50 - 80 per night. Most are near train or metro hubs.

Sorry, I didn't help you at all, didn't I? ;) (leading you not into temptation, that is )

Pretty sure we're going to go the SIN trip. Can anyone do a compare of *Class to any QF class? I like the package but have "sold" it to Mrs Smart86 as JetStar's Business Class. I have assumed it's like QF Premium Economy? Appreciate any comments.

Biggest attraction may be J level SC's.
The cabin is fine, the seat certainly better than JL Y+ shell sliding seat.
We found FA service to be enthusiastic.
Check the archives, Serfty did a positive TR with lots of pix a couple of years ago.
For a couple, Row 1 seats are fine (we used 1A 1B).
The lap video unit is not a good idea (IMO).
In our case, we didn't like the interstate domestic connection with resulting transit delays.

A large part of the attraction is the SCs.

It is difficult to compare Starclass to any QF international product. The cabin is the QF domestic business (with leather seats), so is better than QF Y, but I wouldn't say it was better than QF Premium Economy, certainly not the food/service categories anyway.

The IFE through the portable DVD players is not great.

You do get access to the QF Lounges, assuming there is one in the port you are going to (eg. there isn't one in coughet).
