JQ booking through QF - Which flight number?

If a JQ flight is booked through QF, will it have a QF or JQ flight number?

I had assumed it would be a QF flight number as there is a hefty premium paid over booking direct, but after recently discussing this with another AFFer, I'm now not so sure.

If you are on the QF web site and book a JQ flight, you will be transferred to the JQ web site and the booking, and flight #, is 100% JQ. This may not be the situation you mean, perhaps.

It can be either.

For example, you can book a JQ domestic flight through the QF portal, and you'll be booked onto the JQ flight number.

As RooFlyer said, you'll be directed to the Jetstar website to complete the purchase.

If you select a fare that includes a Jetstar flight as well as a Qantas flight, you'll complete your purchase on the Qantas website.

domestic (only) Jetstar operated flights appear to be only offered on the QF website using JQ flight numbers.

I only recall seeing Jq flight numbers during searches on the QF website. You don't always get kicked to the JQ website, when booking a mix of QF and JQ flights. I think QF numbers would only come into play for LONE type product.

What you do get when booking on the QF website is included baggage. When I've looked closely the premium paid is roughly the same as purchasing extra luggage if booking on the JQ website. It pays to check out the inclusions closely.

The other issue with JQ flights on the QF website is adding bundles, I think only Max bundle is available on the QF website.

From what is displayed, it looks like red-e-deals are the base JQ bundle and a flex fare is the max bundle.

Pretty much. But remember the red-e-deal and Flex labels don't apply for JQ fares on the QF website, only the Jq fare label. Bit of cognitive dissidence to accept that situation.
