JQ booking system can't tell between credit and debit/prepaid cards

Just a heads for the good folks of AFF, I recently made a booking on JQ and paid using a prepaid MC but was charged the credit card fee (1.06%) and not the prepaid card fee (0.48%). The fees are listed here. Did a dummy booking this morning entering debit MC and Visa numbers and found the system wanted to charge the 1.06% fee. The amount of the fee difference for my booking was trivial but for customers who book fares in the hundreds or thousands of dollars, this could be several dollars difference. I have given feedback to the JQ team on this issue.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Haven't tried it myself but I expect that JQ will be quietly happy to pocket the extra 0.5% and will ignore your complaint completely and delay and obsfucate for as long as possible until forced to either correct their list of fees or fix this nice little source of additional revenue on their website. If you want something done about it - someone will have to screenshot this and contact their State Dept of Consumer affairs or the ACCC.

Should be able to detect it pretty easily based on card numbers

There is another interesting bug in the Business Hub booking engine where if you place a booking on hold and then go back to pay later the system wants to charge you the $8.50 'Booking and Service Fee' of old. It's very annoying having to then call their Business support line to pay at the new correct surcharge rather than rebooking because the fare has almost always increased.
