JQ announced SYD BQB flights

Really impressive - I had my doubts about BQB-MEL, but looks like it's been a success for JQ.

Slightly OT - JQ has added more new routes. Received the below from my TA.
  • Sydney to Busselton: 3 per week (pw) from 26MAR24
  • Sydney to Osaka: 3 pw from 01APR24
  • Melbourne to Hervey Bay: 3pw from 20JUN24
  • Shanghai to Tokyo (Narita): 4pw from 18DEC23
  • Singapore to Wuxi: 2pw from 28DEC23 increasing to 5pw from 15JAN24
  • Tokyo (Narita) and Asahikawa: daily from 15DEC23

Presumably this requires a 788 - where will this be coming from?

Per quote : SYD- Osaka (not BDB). Long way on an A320…..

Was announced back in November but starts April 1 so presumably JQ have spammed the travel agents again “launching” th route.


(Note i thought I’d deleted Shanghai - Tokyo which would also presumably be A320).

They’re selling JQ13/14 SYD-KIK on a 788 from 02 Apr - so presumably there’s an aircraft cycling through from somewhere.

Separate flight numbers SYD-CNS, CNS-HND. It isn’t nonstop on a 738/73M.


Yes, was trying to work out were they getting one back from long term maintenance, or cannibalising one from another route?
