Don't know what's going on but J* out of Mel to MCY and back plus the Sydney flights are all delayed. I'm getting 10scs for this flight but looking wistfully at the on time Virgin departures. I think they just pushed someone through to an earlier flight as they got here early.

The way things are going, the switch looks increasingly tempting.

Well generally JQ has about the same or better OTP than DJ.

They just announced boarding for people "who purchased priority boarding" and people seated "in rows 15 to 30". At the same time.
Huh?
Edit: and for people on flexible fares

Certainly wouldn't be looking at the switch for OTP - Virgin struggles in that department overall.

As it happens due to earthquakes and volcanos etc all my flights have been redirected or late last couple of Years, I just roll with it

I find that OTP depends more on routings and luck rather than statistics. Reminds me of a friend, he took roughly 10 SYD-PVG return trips with a number of airlines, and sometimes with a HKG stop-over, and he has a minimum 2 hour delay every single time. Now, I ensure that I do not fly with him.

Don't fly j* very often but from my experience they are always within half an hour of the time they are due to leave.

Just guessing but the Road betwseen Jindy and Perisher is closed due to very high winds with gusts of around 150kph Cars had their windows blown in.

Maybe the route J* uses is being effected by this weather as we know not all airlines fly the same route

Back home nice and warm. I think there was a staffing issue that followed on through the fleet. Gee they turn those planes round quickly.

They made up time nicely by flying at 26000 feet (lucky the CO2 tax hasn't kicked in yet, would have burned through quite a bit today). There wasn't much weather on the way but I noticed we turned sharply inland from the Gold Coast to Melbourne, flying out towards Narrabri. Previously we hugged the coast past Byron I think. I don't know if that had anything to do with the winds to the south but we were well clear of the hills you mentioned. Nasty crosswinds on landing on 16 though, I wouldn't have coped with them on X-plane.
