given a choice between 1230pm 747 flight or a 130pm 744 flight, both operated by JO (Jalways) which one is the better option in business class? I don't think there will be lie-flat seats available despite being a long-haul flight and I don't think there is a business cabin upstairs but happy for anyone to suggest otherwise. thanks

I believe you're correct about the upstairs.

With regards to which flight to take, someone feel free to correct me, but i'd think a 744 would be a newer plan than a 747 which is likely to be a series A with that code.

Have you checked seatguru.com?

seatguru shows 5 series of the 744 (747-400)...expertflyer doesn't have seat maps avail for either flight on JO or AA codeshare...oh well i'm going with the 744 since that looks to have 3 cabin config so will probably have better facilities
