JetFlex - Now even greater flexibility whilst earning Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards.

Busy schedule? Hectic lifestyle? Frequent traveller?

Well JetFlex fares are for you!

Jetstar’s JetFlex fully flexible fares provide significant advantages to passengers and are now even more flexible and rewarding. From March 1st passengers flying on a JetFlex fare will receive the following:

* Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards: Qantas Frequent Flyers will earn points and Status Credits.
* Flexibility: The ability to change time, date and route of travel as well as the passenger name right up to (and including) the scheduled day of travel. So even if you are running late and miss your flight, you can still reschedule your flight within the next 24 hours*
* Priority Seating: Get priority aircraft boarding, for a greater choice of seating. You’ll be given your early-boarding pass at the Jetstar check-in.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Points and Status Credits

From March 1st Jetstar will offer Qantas Frequent Flyer members the ability to earn Frequent Flyer rewards when travelling on a JetFlex fare on Jetstar’s network of services to 15 destinations, across 30 routes and over 880 flights per week!

When making a JetFlex booking, all you have to do is provide your Frequent Flyer number and you will receive rewards upon travel. Jetstar has made changes to its reservations system to allow rewards to be earned automatically. By logging on to jetstar.com as a Qantas Frequent Flyer and providing consent, members can also have their Qantas Frequent Flyer contact details populated automatically in their booking, making the booking process even faster.

JetFlex passengers, who have already booked Jetstar flights for, on or after March 1, are also able to earn Frequent Flyer points and Status Credits. Simply by calling the Jetstar call centre on 131 538 you can have your Qantas Frequent Flyer Number included in your JetFlex booking details. If you forget to include your Frequent Flyer details, remember to keep your JetFlex boarding pass and send it in to Qantas Frequent Flyer for manual processing of rewards. And of course Jetstar will continue to offer Qantas Frequent Flyers opportunities to use points for Jetstar flights, subject to availability.

Qantas Frequent Flyers travelling on a Jetstar JetFlex fare will earn equivalent points per mile and Status credits as earned on Qantas flights. Both the 1000 point minimum earn and Status bonus for Silver, Gold and Platinum Frequent Flyer members will apply to this fare type. To find out more details on what Status credits are and how they are earned. Please note that JetFlex fares earn at the full economy level.

EDIT: Just spoke to a few Qantas and Jetstar ppl regarding this.

You will earn the same amount of QFF and Status Points if you fly on a JetFlex flight of these classes (Y B H and K).

Thanks for posting danielh ^

Good, but I can see a lot of confusion as JetSaver fares arent eligible for QFF points or status credits but JetFlex fares are.

Yep, I agree. I just did a cost/benefit analysis and for a one way trip MLB-Gold Coast on JetSaver on a particular weekday (April 7) it would cost me $79-$109. The JetFlex cost is $299.

I'm not about to pay an additional $200 just for some Status credits and QFF points.

On the other hand, Qantas have how opened up the number of domestic award flights QFF members can get.

It's a win-win for Qantas.

You always could book Qantas award flight on JQ & AO. I think originally, JQ awads came at a 20% points discount.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Two things wrong with this:

1. You have to fly Jetstar, surely the world's least loved airline
2. You have to redeem your points on Jetstar (Ughhh) or Qantas

I will never fly Jetstar again after an awful incident with an obese passenger and completely disinterested and unhelpful crew. And I could never get flights on Qantas in business on the Kangaroo route even if I tried to book a year ahead. Well, I could get flights over - but always had to come back via the USA. Until recently the Qantas business class cabin sucked anyway - how many years have BA had flat seats in business?

An airline run by an accountant is always going to screw the passengers to please the shareholders. I fly Virgin Atlantic now, and Virgin Blue (where every flight earns me points) and am about to sample V-Australia, flying business class Brisbane to LA on points earned on Virgin Blue.

I cancelled my Qantas club membership when Qantas closed the lounge at Gold Coast Airport and have just about run down the last of my Qantas FF points, at which time I will cancel my membership. I haven't flown Qantas for some years now - I used extra points to upgrade to BA for the flat seats before I made the switch to Virgin Atlantic.

The final straw for me was the change to compulsory credit card points transfer to Qantas. I cancelled those cards which only offered QF points and use my Amex points on Virgin Atlantic and my CBA M/Card points on V-Australia. I always pay for domestic flights and save my points for international business.

Why would anyone pay $299 to sit on a Jetstar seat to go anywhere?

Other than the fact this thread is 5 years old and should be closed…

Why would anyone pay $299 to sit on a Jetstar seat to go anywhere?

Coming in June, although JQ is always going to be JQ, anyseat awards will start to earn SC, which can be useful for re-qualification.

Your rant belongs in a new thread!

In that thread, I’m sure you’ll get a lot of agreement and a lot of disputes with what you’ve said.

Really!?!!?

Where did you hear this? It is news (very welcome) to me!

I knew they would earn SC's on QF but I did not think it included JQ.

and still this 5 year old thread lives.......
