Yes, thanks Futaris. :p I'm pleased after your hard work (and working out the link before the rest of us knew ;) ) that you got some tickets booked. I didn't get my email until 7:43 AEDT so I appreciate having the link to at least have a stab.

Enjoy the trips, it's got to be a good feeling that you're flying for some small change that would normally be left lying under the couch or in the gutter. Congrats to everyone who got some tickets.

Cheers,

guess JQ got alot of free publicity from this promotion............I still don't know why the media was so ''interested'' in this promotion when really the promotion was available to persons who had a special email link via invitation? it is not like the offer was available to the general public with ''first in best dresséd'' ticket offers

i can see alot of people who did not receive such email log on to the JQ website in hope to purchase a cheap ticket only to find out the website was jammed and wasted 1-2hrs, and feel highly disappointed and frustrated......

-but there are some exceptional deals at the moment incl syd-HNL fo4 $99 plus tax , had a quick look and in the last week of feb for $543 incl all taxes rtn!! excellent!!

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Am I disappointed I missed out? No! I did not even try as I had more important things to do. Congratulations to anyone that has managed to make a booking.

I am amazed at the number of people that respond to these amateur, mickey mouse, Jetstar publicity stunts. This is not a sale. It is almost like a lottery. It is a joke and the results reported in this thread are inconsistent.

Has anyone that purchased these 5 cent airfares actually need to travel on the dates they have booked? Or is it more a case I will get what I can get and then organise my plans around these dates.

I had a few weekends in mind when these sales came up. Some matched up, some didn't. Anyhow, this in conjunction with the Norfolk Air tickets means that I have Ekka Weekend on cheap fares to SYD/MEL, along with the first weekend in Sep... See my BA97 calendar.

Uninterestingly I was looking for fares for MEL-HBA for OzFest, but they didn't appear to have any seats available that week.

Meltdown as 5c fare offer swamps Jetstar | NEWS.com.au

JETSTAR triggered an unprecedented stampede for cut-price tickets last night, with 60 million hits on its website as people rushed for 5c airfares.

At its peak, the sale was generating 10,000 hits on the airline's website every second.

Yet it took almost three hours to sell the 5000 seats on offer as technology struggled to cope with demand.

Technical difficulties delayed the start of the 7pm sale by 19 minutes, with the final 5c seat sold at 9.45pm.

60 million hits:oops:  I wonder if this sale has deffered people away from tiger, well its not gonna defer me:D

Will there be similar sales from Tiger and Jetstar once the former begins operating?

With the response of last night, such fares may become fairly regular, should Tiger market like it's big discount brother, Ryanair.

Good luck with the airfares that you were able to snare.

I notice that you have several one way flights booked and I guess you will be waiting on future sales to purchase return flight. ;)
