Do Tiger have 300K email subscribers with similar sales? Not defending JQ - just sure if we are comparing like with like...

Tiger has been much smarter than JQ by having lower lead in airfares for the routes announced to date. No need to have ridiculous sales to attract customers.

Just to get an idea for comparison of like with like how often does the Ryanair or Easyjet websites crash during sales?

one has to wonder if they really did "sell out" all 10,000 of those $1 fares, or did the offer expire before the excuse of a web site was able to actually process that many purchases?

Exactly what I was thinking since I couldn't even get through on the reservation number, to ask what is going on. Usually one gets put on hold if they are busy, not told they are busy or not answering try again later and I did many times, even after sale finished, same result.

I dont think they did sell them all. I was trying to book tickets at 2 mins before the sale ended and there were tickets available i selected flights entered cc details clicked send, then got the "communications error" page.... as i did not get a PNR i assume the booking failed, but there were certainly tickets still available at that time SYD/OOL.

I finaly managed to get a one way ticket SYD-OOL for $2 for two pax at approx 1400 yesterday afternoon (2 hours after the sale 'allegedly ' finsihed).
