Just arrived in coughet travelling Jetstar (starclass). Impressed by the service and the speed of exit through coughet customs.

My question is: how long does it take for my frequent flyer points to be added. As this will push me over the platinum threshold its quite important to me.

Any advice gratefully received.

cheers

Jetstar points seem to take anywhere from 1 day until 2 weeks to post from what i have heard. (Unlike QF that post within 24 hours usually)

My only experience with JQ has been two MEL/BKK returns.

Ex MEL, the points/SC's posted the next day.

Ex BKK between 3 and 5 weeks, but I had to put in a claim for them.

I've flown Jetstar MEL-BKK a half dozen times in the past few months and sometimes the flights post and sometimes they don't.

My experience with flights posting is that if there're not there in 2 weeks then they probably won't post and so I email a claim.

I recently returned from a trip to Hawaii on Jetstar. My points for the outbound flight came through in about 2 days.

Points for the return flight still weren't there after a couple of weeks so I sent the details through to QF. They appeared very soon after.

The outbound points turned up the next day. the inbound points still not here 4 days later. They will make me platinum and I would love to see them turn up.

Ahh well patience....

I have a similar experience to most forumites who replied - the Jetstar points for the outward bound were added to my account in reasonable time, but the points for the inward bound took weeks and I had to make a claim for them.

The saga continues. I have emailed for missing points and spoken to Qantas. A very couteous Qantas person told me that she would look into it and points should arrive in 48 hours. They did not. Called again today and Qantas person says they need acknowledgement from Jetstar, which has not arrived.

So I call Jetstar and a somewhat offhand person tells me I have to take this up with QF. I explain that has already happened. I ask her what must be done for these points to arrive. She tells me it is a computer process and she can do nothing. I ask who I can email to indicate my displeasure. No emails all complaints by snail mail only...

I know its a small thing but it seems that WP seems destined to elude me. Ah well what can you do?

Can understand your situation, especially when these SC's wouyld take you to WP.

I travelled in Dec, as reported here as being normal, the outbound points ex MEL posted the next day. three days after the return I put in an online claim; 10 days later I called and was told three weeks was the go for online claims and wait another week. 5 Days later they posted (18 days after the flight).

So when I travelled in Feb I decided to experiment. The ex MEL point again posted the next day. I then waited for the return points to post.

Once the 18 days of the Dec trip passed and still no sign, I put in an online claim, They posted 18 days later, a total of 36 days after the flight. I was able to do this as I did not have an immediate use for the points.

You points will post, but Qantas FF are the people to call, not JQ.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Finally got the points credited today, but only after faxing boarding pass to the very helpful Olivia in the awards department.

So platinum at last.

Hello,

Resurrecting an old thread as a first post (lurking for quite a while!).

It seems the QFF points crediting from Jetstar remains as inefficient as ever. A recent *class SYD to DPS and return failed to credit within 14 days, so I sent in a request. Nothing! As I needed the status credits to qualify for WP I rang the QFF service centre and over the phone the helpful chap was able to get the SYD-DPS leg credited as we spoke (this was 3 weeks after the flight). Still waiting for the DPS-SYD points (flight was on 25/11).

A related question - do status credits accrue in the membership year of the flight, or in the year they are posted to your account? This might affect my strategy for attempting to achieve partner gold by 28 Feb anniversary! (sorry of this has been asked and answered before!)

eg if I fly on 27 Feb, but the status credits don't post till March, which year do they count towards (this year or next)?

Thanks, and I might say a great web site with many knowledgable contributors.

Welcome to AFF!

The SC's are applied as at the date you earn them, not at the time you are given them.

So if you are short of PG you will then be awarded PG when the SC's hit your account.

And the date you earn them is the date that the flight scheduled to depart. In the case of an over night flight.

... and it's the scheduled date of the departure Airport.

e.g. Flying on QF93 (LAX-MEL) departing on time on 30th November will credit for November, even though it departs 1st December Australian time. It will still credit as 30th November if it departs late in the early hours of the 1st December.

Aus ATC,

Welcome to AFF.

It was interesting when I rang the QF FF desk last week with the same problem. I was asked the question re who's points had not credited and the lady was pleasantly surprised when I said LAN as she was expecting me to say Jetstar :!:
