Jetstar has been successful in obtaining approval by the regulator for Extended Range Operations (ETOPS) for its long haul international services for 180 minutes.
An important part of the approval process by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) involved assessment of a comprehensive safety case, submitted by the airline earlier this year.
Jetstar Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce today confirmed that 180 minutes ETOPS had been approved by the regulator.
Mr Joyce said this important achievement reflected well on both the detailed submission and the existing high level of operational capability within the Jetstar organisation.
