Can I ask if payment for a credit card using Bpay is considered a cash advance? I could have potentially paid my credit card off and earn a nice amount of points in the process. Interesting to note that the card was paying points for gambling as well.

If you mean "are BPAY payment from this credit card considered cash advance" then no, they are not.

Yep, got that letter this week as well.

I had already closed my account though because Macquarie (who underwrites Jetstar's cars anyway) offered $99 annual fee for slightly better conditions, which was good before but a no brainer now!
Disappointing really, but it was only a matter of time.

Looking at their T&Cs, it appears Macquarie QFF points are also capped at 2500 per statement. I suppose $99 vs $169 is better and there's a 40,000 sign up bonus.
Likewise our son won't be using JQ now that his interstate course has finished.
Now to go through all the accounts and move all the Direct Debits before the anniversary date. A bl**dy nuisance <grrr!>

Cancelled card citing the change in conditions and better value elsewhere, wasn't offered any incentive to stay so the whole call took under 5 minutes.

Just did same, however I was offered an incentive - $84.50 instead of $169 annual card fee. Call centre person said card still had 100,000 point cap per year but I replied that with only 30,000 points pa at 1:1 it wasn't worth keeping the card.

Same here. No real attempt to keep me, gone back to WW Card (both provided by Macquarie) for lower fee first year and sign up bonus.

I closed this card 6+ months ago, just received a legitimate looking email and SMS notifying me my new application for this card has been approved. Only problem is I haven't applied for this card lately.

Anyone else receive this? Tried calling but the line seems busy...

Same here. My email and text was from Macquare Bank who also does the Jetstar card (and Woolworths and probably many others)

Minutes later, have now received the Jetstar email too. If every one of my Macquarie issued cards are reapproved, I'll get dozens of emails!

I just this second received the email - I have the card, have not yet cancelled.

I just received an email and SMS saying my card application had been approved. I've had this card for over 6 months now so must be a mistake!

I just received a SMS saying I'm approved for Woolworths Money QANTAS Platinum Credit Card (which I already have). Looks like they are having a few problems.

Or someone else applied for another card in your name.

Looks like I'm in trouble as well:

'Dear Dr Ralph

I wondered this so checked my credit file - no score drop so I think that's ruled out.

Hopefully just the work experience kid trying out mail merge.
