Jetstar Pacific has been “transitioned” to be part of Vietnam Airlines and all and any vouchers issued by them under their Jetstar brand have been “transitioned” to them as well.
Which means that the voucher we got for 3 people for internal Vietnam flights will now barely cover 2 people - if we can even get to Vietnam before. April 2021. At the moment I have no voucher anywhere - it doesn’t exist on the Jetstar website and the Pacific Airlines system doesn’t recognition either.
We received no notification about this change - I actually found the information by chance when googling something else.
I can’t believe this is even legal - Jetstar’s Australian website was the original booking (yes, they redirected to Jetstar Pacific but still under Jetstar aus).
To make my blood boil even more, they had originally agreed to issue a refund but then changed their mind to a voucher.
Looks like we have made a donation to Pacific Airlines - but will never spend a cent with them or Jetstar ever again.

This would explain why I had such a difficult fight with them. On multiple occasions they would tell me that I was going to get a refund, only to get the same voucher a month later and have to contact them again. Eventually I actually gave up and just did a charge back instead, which appears to have been successful because I provided documentation that showed they had agreed to a refund and then backtracked.

Perhaps you can do the same.

The problem now with a chargeback is that Jetstar Pacific is no longer in business so the CC company might not have a company to get the funds from.

Think they are still in business. They've just changed their name, and Qantas has sold/been diluted of its stake (this isn't clear). Remember Qantas has only ever had about 30% in Jetstar Pacific, and VN has been the majority in the past few years (previously a Vietnamese Govt authority)

In addition they are migrating all bookings (and presumably credits) from Jetstars Navitaire to Sabre (initially under VN codes)

Ah that's such a shame. The domestic BL hops in Vietnam with Max bundle were great status credit earners.

They've even started to repaint the aircraft with the new Pacific Airlines branding: jetphotos.com/photo/9800210

Would have been for me if the ticket I'd booked had actually flown.

Earlier this year I booked HAN-DAD vv when there were 2 flights a day. About a week later they cancelled the 2 flights I'd chosen and reduced the frequency to 1 flight a day, and then about a week before I was due to actually fly they killed the route. This was all before COVID took hold. I had been looking forward to a large amount of SC, and instead started a protracted fight for a refund under their conditions of carriage.

Ultimately, I guess the major problem wasn't BL but how the parent company handles issues, as I know many probably agree with. Anyway, I digress.

I wonder if flying Pacific Airlines will earn miles/status to Lotusmiles/SkyTeam?

I find if you request to speak to a suprvisor, explain your dissatisfaction you may get help . I find them very helpful.
