I am going to Asia using FF points on Qantas and wanted to purchase a one way ticket with Jetstar from Bangkok to Melbourne. I cannot do that on the Australian site. It does not allow me to select BKK as a departure point, only OZ airports.
If I go to Thai site, all quotes are in baht. I will get hit on exchange rates. About three years ago I tried to make same booking in Thailand and I had to go to an office in Bangkok to present my credit card within 48 hours before booking was completed. Was a problem at the time as I was several hundred clicks up country. If it still applies, I cannot book.

Are you trying to book Jetstar or QF, Jetstar do not have the same requirements for booking ex BKK and if using points it will kick you into the JQ engine once you select the flight, problem solved!

I am trying to book Jetstar (direct flight) but not with points. I will be paying cash. Do you mean I should go to Qantas site and book from there??

Just go to the Jetstar website, Bangkok can even be selected from the .com.au site.
