Originally booked KIX-CNS-MEL on 20/4.

Jetstar now have "unavoidably" changed their schedule and now the flight is on the 21/4 going KIX-NRT-CNS-MEL with a 12 hour layover in NRT.

What are my options? I'm so mad. Not looking forward to paying for an extra nights accommodation or that long a layover with a 2yo.

Gah, I full on panicked and didn't click through on the email. Second flight option of 5 hour layover. Not as bad, but not thrilled about extra night

Other options?
- Refund and travel on alternate airline?
- Travel insurance coverage?
- Which flight is actually the issue (is it KIX-CNS in which case can you get seat NRT-CNS the day prior etc and either get a better conection the day prior, or self-travel to NRT the day of departure)?

We decided that an extra night in Osaka is not so terrible. We'll AirBnB it so it won't be so expensive.

Re: Jetstar flight operated by Qantas - JQ cannot assign seats

Is that right? If a JQ flight is operated by Qantas, JQ cannot assign seats? I'm being told this and it doesn't sound right.

Re: Jetstar flight operated by Qantas - JQ cannot assign seats

Would travel insurance cover this extra night's accommodation?

Depends on your insurer and the T+Cs of the policy.

Worth a phone call to discuss. Prior to booking anything / agreeing to any change (ideally).
