Jetstar bags 'not adequately screened' | Travel News | News.com.au

QANTAS has been hit with new safety fears after staff allege bags were not adequately checked before flights.

The International Transport Workers Union (ITWU) has initiated separate legal action in the Federal Court alleging that checked baggage was not adequately screened and cleared before it was put on Jetstar aircraft on five occasion, The Australian reports.

The ITWU is threatening to impose bans on the loading and unloading of bags on Jetstar flights throughout the Oceania region unless the Qantas subsidiary addresses concerns over the alleged security lapses at Sydney airport.

Another union attack on the QANTAS Group and no news runs with it!

It seems to have almost become mandatory! I'm sure it is warranted on occasion but not nearly as often as it happens.

Aaaaand they're at it again (TheAge this time)

'Bang and flames' before Qantas flight turnaround

'Bang and flames' before Qantas flight turnaround
Qantas passengers say they heard a ''bang'' and saw flames coming from an engine on a flight forced to turn back to Brisbane last night.

At least the article mentions pax were happy with the way the incident was handled.

Gotta love (not) sensationalistic journalism!
