Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

Look, I know this is probably a really stupid question. But I’m looking for reward flights in October and…3K flights still seem to be showing up as available for booking?
Interesting. I wonder if JQ will maintain those DPS-SIN flights or if its just for a transition period.

Looks like they have moved many people off the 3K SIN-DPS flights and onto that JQ flight. I have one SIN-DPS later this year on the JQ flight, seat map was pretty empty before the announcements, few weeks later only about 10 seats left and the price has jumped to something that is nearly sold out.
Yep there were two routes they could do this on, SIN-DPS for those on 3K flights they offered a free change to the JQ flight instead and MNL-KIX (operated by 3K) where they offered a reroute on MNL-NRT-KIX operated by GK instead. For those who'd booked direct with 3K on all other routes it was an instant refund with no other options.

They only re-introduced the JQ service on DPS-SIN in June 2025, extending one of the MEL-DPS flights. Pre-COVID they operated PER-SIN-DPS.

It's basically a work around to get extra seats under the Indonesian bilateral by operating via CGK or DPS to a beyond point in Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand. I don't see this going away as it opens up extra seat capacity into Bali.

Hello All,

I had a Air Asia flight booked from Singapore to Bangkok. Got the email saying the flight was cancelled and I needed to make contact to organise a new flight or a refund.

As I booked with QF points, I knew I wasn't going to get a new flight and started to organise a refund. After a very long winded process I was given my points back and $$ refunded.

However I also had purchased extra leg room seats through the Jetstar website. This is where the extremely long phone calls started and backwards and forwards with Jetstar and Qantas handballing to each other. Long story short, I am still waiting for the refund on the extra leg room seats.

Has anyone else had this problem or know how long the refund may take?

Thanks
Vanessa :)

Keep an eye on it. if it doesn’t come back, initiate a chargeback via your credit card. i imagine there will be a 6-8 week time window for refunds :(

The way the commercial policy reads those on 081 Qantas tickets should be eligible for a reroute on a different carrier. In theory this also extends to rewards seats so I wonder if anyone’s had any luck getting this change.

Oh I would be really interested to know this.

I did ask about another carrier but said they could do a refund. I would have had a different carrier no problems, would have been easier for me than going through the whole refunding process.

Here is the official policy: https://www.qantas.com/agencyconnec...ed-cancellation-jetstar-asia-3k-services.html

You might need to remind them that you have a qantas issued ticket… as reported above, they may need to go away and check with a supervisor.

Probably a bit too late now, but I would certainly write to qantas, explain you were told ‘refund only’ and out in a claim for your new ticket, quoting the above policy.
